This product meant for deep cleaning and exfoliation of your scalp is probably one of the most well-known Korean hair products currently. Since I’ve been on the lookout for a good scalp scrub for my oily scalp lately. I was really excited to pick this one up.

 

Like the K-beauty 10-step skincare regimen that become popular several years ago, there’s also a 10-step haircare routine that is popular in Korea. This routine is about caring for your hair, but with particular importance on scalp health.

How Does Scalp Scaling Fit Into The Korean Haircare Routine?

How Do You Use CP-1 Scalp Scaler?

Using the Cp-1 Scalp Scaler is similar to using shampoo. Take a small amount of the product (I used a nickel-sized amount) and start massaging it into your scalp. I found it useful to start with the crown of my head and then slowly move forward, and then onto the sides, before massaging the back of my head. Massage the scalp scaler for 2-3 minutes before rinsing.

 

 

Avoid getting too much of the scalp scaler into the lengths of your hair since it can have a drying effect on your hair.

 

How Often To Use CP-1 Scalp Scaler

The CP-1 Scalp Scaler is meant to be used 1-3 times a week in place of your shampoo, but if you have a dry scalp use it once a week or once every two weeks. The scalp scaler is gentle enough to use frequently without further disturbing your scalp. It’s nourishing and moisturizing ingredients keep it from drying out your scalp and instead promote balancing of your scalp’s oil production for optimal scalp health.

 

My Experience with the CP-1 Scalp Scaler

Using the scalp scaler is different than using a regular shampoo. Because it the CP-1 Scalp Scaler is so thick, it can be difficult to spread around. I started by massaging it into my scalp at the crown and slowly moving my way around my head. 

 

It takes a few full minutes to work into a lather, but once it does it becomes a thick, heavy, sudsy lather. Once I was satisfied that I had reached every corner of my scalp and massaged thoroughly, I rinsed it out of my hair. 

 

After drying my hair, I expected that my hair my oily scalp might feel much dryer, especially after repeated use. I used it a for a few weeks and instead of my scalp feeling dry it felt nourished and balanced. This is not an overly stripping formula but rather a gentle and balancing one that can help anyone with scalp issues, especially oiliness, dandruff, dryness, irritation and itchiness, and sensitive scalps.
