The past year has had me obsessed with finding the easiest way to get a blowout, which is where the best 2-inch curling irons come in. 2-inch curling wands are double the size of a standard 1-inch curling wand and are less common, however if an easy blowout is what you’re looking for, 2-inch curling irons are what you’re looking for.
1-inch curling irons are versatile and you can get a lot of different size curls out of them depending on how you tightly you wrap your hair around the barrel, but they can be difficult if you have long hair. With my 1-inch curling iron I found that the curls were always too tight and it ended up gathering dust.
2-inch curling irons aren’t as easily found but they’re out there and I’ve rounded up the best ones (and a couple of 1.75 inch versions) to help you get loose curls in a pinch. In this post I’ll cover some additional benefits of a 2-inch curling iron, and then list some of the best ones out there!
Why You Need a Add 2-Inch Curling Iron to Your Hot Tools Collection
A two-inch barrel is the same size as a round brush, which makes it perfect for a loose, blown out look. If you have long-hair, your hair will more easily fit around the barrel which also means you can get those loose curls faster as you can apply heat to more of your hair at once.
2-inch curling irons are also great for adding bounce to the ends of your hair, or curling your hair at the bottom for a flipped ends look or inwards for sophisticated polish. So if you’re new to styling your hair, the more subtle curls that come from this large barrel are easy to work with and easy to create.
All in all, if you’re someone who doesn’t style their hair at all, and has maybe even bought some heat tools that you don’t use because you don’t feel confident about how to use them, a 2-inch curling iron can become your go-to tool. Or if you find yourself having to brush out your curls to get a subtle wave or manipulate a straightener to get a blowout, a 2-inch curling iron can save you time and stress.

So which 2-inch curling irons are the best?
Best 2-Inch Curling Irons
This curling iron is BEAUTIFUL, or maybe I’m just partial to this gold barrel. Still there’s something very Hollywood glam about this one. The Hot Tools’ Pro Artist 24K Jumbo Iron has variable heat settings and a large thumb grip which makes this easy to wrap around your hair for quick, loose curls.
The name of this one gives it all away: this 2-incher is perfect for a soft bend in the hair. What really stands out about it though is the titanium barrel which makes it up fast. It also has auto shut-off so you don’t have to worry about whether you turned it off before you left home.

If you’re hesitant to splash some cash for hot tool that serves only one purpose, the NuMe 2-in-1 is both a 1.75-inch curling wand and a deep waver. It’s easy to switch up loose curls for beach waves in the morning with this product, which is the dream, really.
Conair’s Infiniti Pro 1.75-inch curling iron is a great budget choice because of its large barrel and fast heat-up time. It has five different temperature options which is great if you’re looking to turn down the temperature to prevent hot tool damage. Because of the price, it’s a good option if you’re not ready to commit to a more expensive one just yet.
I’ll admit I’m cheating here a little: the Dyson Airwrap’s largest curling attachment is only 1.6 inches, but this is still a pretty large attachment meant for softer curls on long hair. This attachment comes with the Airwrap’s Complete Long version which is meant for those with longer hair, but it has all the benefits of the Dyson Airdrop that people love. It has intelligent heat control to lessen damage, and it dries as it styles.
